There Is Fear In COURAGE
Courage was never, is never and will never be the
absence of fear. This statement is for people like me who used to believe
"courage is the absence of fear." Courage is the willingness to go
after what we desire in spite of pains or fears. It is starring danger or shame
in the eye yet holding your ground. It is the mastery of fears, not the absence
of them. If you are afraid of the unknown or afraid of starting something new,
I say welcome to the winners’ circle; for a winner is simply one who dares to
continue with the pursuit of his dreams-even though afraid-until he gets them! Courage
is a quality of the mind that produces the physical act of Boldness. This is
why when you are courageous; people call you bold, thinking you are fearless!
It is Courage that makes our world expand. When we
venture into something new, we acquire new experiences, come in contact with
new resources and become more influential than we were before. Cowardice
instead shrinks our world. The more you withdraw and run from challenges
(starting a business, making the career change or simply standing up for
something); the less personal powers you have and the less relevant you become
in life. Courage is the virtue that inflames our faith and strengthens our will
to persevere in challenging times.
One major mistake most of us make is run from opportunities
or give up on our dreams whenever we experience pain or fear. We convince
ourselves and others that our challenge is larger than life and start a pity
party that supports our trying a different route. This act makes us forfeit
opportunities through which providence could have blessed us. I tell
you today, the only time to really be brave is when you are afraid! When
your muscles are tensed, palms sweaty and knees buckling; that is when to say
YES, I CAN and STAND UP TO DO WHAT YOU CAN! That is Courage.
So, what is it that you are hoping for or dreaming
about? What are you afraid to start? What is standing between you and your
dream life? Whatever it is, always remember this; trying times come to all
human beings, but the man who courageously hold on to his dreams, in
spite of fear or pain, is the one who rules the world.
BE COURAGEOUS!
